Amnesty International Group 270 was founded in Whatcom County in the 1980s by persons dedicated to protecting human rights both locally and abroad. Group 270 is maintained by a passionate and diverse collection of advocates, activists, and educators.

"Promoting human rights" is what we do. Here are a few examples of the ways we do it:
- We bring awareness to human rights violations through campaigns - We petition, write letters, and perform actions to counter human rights abuses - We organize events, and assist other groups' human rights/social justice events - We respond to urgent actions and relay urgent action information to others - We lobby to protect human rights in local legislation |
